Copyrights to launch Amazing Baby licensing programme.

The Copyrights Group Ltd has agreed a deal with The Templar Company Plc to handle the worldwide (excluding USA/Canada) merchandising rights for its award-winning publishing brand: Amazing Baby.

“The Amazing Baby brand already has a good profile with consumers who love its contemporary look and educational philosophy.  We are really pleased to have been chosen to represent the brand, which has a clear appeal with both a preschool and lifestyle orientated audience.  A style guide is already in development which will generate creative applications of the brand across a number of licensing categories,” commented Nicholas Durbridge, CEO Copyrights Group.

First published in May 2003 the Amazing Baby series quickly established itself in the UK with sales of 1.5m.  The combination of black white photographs, distinctive design and contemporary icons has proved very popular with parents and babies,  whilst educational research has shown that time spent with babies reading and talking is vitally important for the child’s future linguistic development. “Simple and bright and therefore perfect for newborns,” according to The Guardian.

The Amazing Baby brand already features on a range of high-quality baby toys developed by US-based Kids Preferred and distributed in the UK by Rainbow Designs.  Available through department stores and boutique outlets, products from this range won Gold Seals from the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio in 2006 including: Developmental Butterfly, Mirror Teether Rattle, Developmental Duck, Developmental Star, Soft Book, and Blanket Teether Bear.

“We are delighted to be working with Copyrights,” added Richard Scrivener, Templar’s Commercial and Operations Director.  “The Amazing Baby brand has great potential which I am convinced we can realise in the coming years.  It has a hip, fresh and contemporary feel that offers something different to today’s parents and their babies.”
