Jacqueline Wilson will be on Copyrights’ stand at Brand Licensing to sign copies of the first new Tracy Beaker novel in fourteen years – Starring Tracy Beaker. This is a real coup as it comes 24 hours ahead of the official launch of the book. The signing will commence at 10am on the first day of the show, Wednesday 4th October.
A multi-media success, Jacqueline Wilson has sold over 20 million books; all five series of Tracy Beaker are continually broadcast on CBBC and it is regularly the top-rated children’s drama.
Jacqueline Wilson is now tracking highly in independent market research. For the 12 months ending December 2005 NPD License Tracker shows Jacqueline Wilson in the top 20 characters (boys & girls) in the UK. It also shows that Jacqueline Wilson to be the 6th largest character for girls aged 0-14 years of age. Finally, Jacqueline Wilson was the largest character in Publishing (including stationery) for this age range.
NPD then go onto report for the 12 months ending March 2006, Jacqueline Wilson has been one of the fastest growing characters for boys and girls aged 0-14 years.
W-Kat Research in April 2006 published their Who's the Tops with UK Kids? report and for girls aged 7-9 years, Tracy Beaker holds the Number 1 spot and for girls aged 10-12 years, both Tracy Beaker once again at Number 1 and Jacqueline Wilson herself at number 9!
The fast-growing Jacqueline Wilson licensing programme now has over 25 licensing partners across more than 80 products. A hit in Marks & Spencer, Starring Tracy Beaker childrenswear went from trial to stock in just eight weeks in late Summer 2006. Jacqueline Wilson merchandise is also listed by Toys R Us, WH Smith, Woolworths, Next, Sainsbury’s, Somerfield, and Tesco.
