THE COPYRIGHTS GROUP SHOWCASES PORTFOLIO HIGHLIGHTS AT LICENSING INTERNATIONAL 2006

Copyrights Group will demonstrate the breadth of their portfolio at Licensing International 2006.  All aspects of Copyrights’ diverse portfolio are represented, such as Character with Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit, Tween with Jacqueline Wilson’s Totally Tracy! And Violent Veg- Lifestyle with Marie Claire - and Art with The Sir Winston Churchill Collection.  Showcased on Copyrights’ Stand (No 3233) each brand presents exciting opportunities for the North American market and beyond.

Fans of Peter Rabbit™ will be able to explore the life of author/illustrator Beatrix Potter when the feature film, 'Miss Potter', starring Renée Zellweger in the title role, is released in Winter 2006.  New licensing opportunities and an innovative brand enhancement as part of a longer term brand direction for Peter Rabbit will also be highlighted.

Copyrights will update visitors to the stand on the success of the recently launched Totally Tracy!™ - the second brand based on the best-selling tween novels of famous UK author and Children’s Laureate, Jacqueline Wilson.  Both Jacqueline Wilson brands (Best Friends and Totally Tracy!) continue to do well at retail in the UK and attract new licensees.  Latest product ranges launched in the UK include: back-to-school, character dolls, lifestyle gifts, tableware, clothing, greetings cards, stationery and creative activity kits.

A feature on the Copyrights’ stand will be the hugely successful Marie Claire™ merchandise programme, which will be showcased with a display of the extensive and stylish range of home décor and soft furnishings recently launched by Playcorp - the Australian homewares licensee.  Playcorp hold the licence for bed linen, bathroom towels and accessories, kitchen accessories and tabletop products and more, all of which are being offered exclusively for the first year through Myer - the largest department store group in Australia.  In keeping with the Marie Claire brand and its fashion conscious following, Playcorp plan to supplement the core collection of products with the introduction of range extensions each year.

The edgy and rarely politically correct world of Violent Veg™ is now creating a stir in licensing and will return to Licensing International on the Copyrights stand.  The brand was launched at last year’s show and as a direct result, Barnes & Noble, the world’s largest publisher and distributor of books, agreed a deal for an exclusive Violent Veg book that will be published this year and distributed initially through their 700 store network and via the web.  With an expanding merchandise programme in the UK, a multi-product licensing deal recently signed in Australia and a global new media deal in place for download ringtones, games, animation etc Copyrights will be showcasing the Violent Veg brand on the stand and discussing new licensing opportunities.

The Copyrights Group will also be showing their full portfolio of classic characters, lifestyle brands, fine art, tween and nostalgia properties at Licensing International.
