The World of Beatrix Potter - Two exciting announcements

The World of Beatrix Potter is set to have an amazing year in 2007 following two exciting announcements for the brand – a brand enhancement initiative and the launch of the Miss Potter film.

PETER RABBIT NATURALLY BETTER

F. Warne & Co. and The Copyrights Group recently announced a new initiative for The World of Beatrix Potter™ programme – Peter Rabbit™ Naturally Better.

Peter Rabbit™ Naturally Betteris a new World of Beatrix Potter™ initiative, backed by a Corporate Social Responsibility Charter.  Warne and The Copyrights Group will be working with licensees to develop products and services to offer consumers and retailers a better alternative. Themes covered include ethical, environmental, health and packaging issues, with the aim of developing products which are: Better for the environment; Better for mothers and children; and Better for the people who make them.

The Peter Rabbit™ Naturally Better initiative is completely in keeping with the brand values traditionally associated with Beatrix Potter, who based her famous stories in the natural world. Potter herself was a staunch campaigner for the environment and had strong associations with The National Trust, and this initiative follows her lead.

MISS POTTER

MISS POTTER is the enchanting love story inspired by the life of the most successful children’s author of all time and her romance with her publisher, Norman Warne (Ewan McGregor). Starring RenĂ©e Zellweger as Beatrix Potter, Ewan McGregor as Norman Warne, and directed by Chris Noonan (BABE). MISS POTTER will go on cinema release in the UK on 5th January 2007.

Set in London and the Lake District in 1902, the film follows the developments of Beatrix Potter’s early career and the growing relationship with her publisher, Norman Warne. Whilst Beatrix Potter is best known for delighting generations of children with her famous Peter Rabbit Tales, there is one story that she has kept secret … until now.
