Background

 

The Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture (MoDA) in London houses one of the UK’s most important and comprehensive collections of late nineteenth-century and twentieth-century decorative design for the home.

 

 

Collections include:

  • Silver Studio Collection, this world-renowned commercial studio was Britain’s leading independent design studio from 1880-1963. The collection contains over 40,000 designs, 5,000 wallpaper samples and 5,000 textile samples.
  • The Domestic Design Collection contains more than 4,000 books, magazines and trade catalogues.
  • Crown Wallpaper Collection consists of classic wallpaper pattern books primarily from the 1950s.
  • These collections provide a unique record of design for the home from the mid-nineteenth century to 1960 and offer tremendous opportunities for manufacturers and retailers to access the best of British style in quality of design and a flexible approach to licensing.
