International Professional Rodeo Association®
What is the IPRA?
- The International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA®) is one of two national governing bodies for the sport of rodeo. IPRA® is responsible for endorsing and setting standards on local rodeo and organises the world championships, which are held annually in Oklahoma City.
- Since its founding in 1953, the IPRA has broadened the appeal of rodeo to the entire family. It is an event the whole family can attend.
- By enhancing the sport and giving it credibility, IPRA has expanded the rodeo experience into all national markets.
- The IPRA has brought the spirit of the historic west into markets far beyond the Mississippi. Rodeo is gaining increasing international exposure and is particularly popular in Canada and Argentina.
